Jim started his construction career building homes and small commercial projects in Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana after getting his degree in Business from the University of Chicago. He started a building business with a college friend for three years in the Chicago area.

After a vacation in Colorado, Jim decided to relocate and started working with a commercial general contractor. Following 25 years of building projects in every major city in the western United States as a Project Manager and Sr. Construction Manager, he arrived at Mendel and Company and is now doing what he loves to do.

Over the years, Jim has worked on projects for Sears, JC Penney, Home Depot, Eagle/Lowes Hardware, Walgreens, Rite-Aid, Montgomery Ward, Residence Inn, Express, Limited, Abercrombie & Fitch, and Eddie Bauer. A few of his favorite local projects were Park Meadows Mall, Jacksons Hole and Fados Irish Pub, as Coors field and Lodo started taking shape. In Jims words, No project and no client is the same and thats why Construction is such a great career. There is a lot of diversity. Taking a project from estimate to completion is truly rewarding.

In his spare time Jim enjoys spending his life with family and friends whether its skiing, fishing, hiking, hunting or just experiencing the Colorado great outdoors at its finest. This is vacationland and we are living the dream. Professional Sporting events fill in the rest of his time.

Contributing time as a volunteer for various charitable events and congregations has been a very large part of his life.

Life is a rock, you have to keep climbing unknown.
