In April of 2011, Mendel & Company will begin construction of an opthamologist office for Dr. Nalin Mehta, a dental office for Dr. Sylvia Talavera, a liquor store in the DTC, repairs of extensive water damage at an elderly housing facility in Denver, renovations of a Walgreen's in Littleton, and a general office space for a marketing firm in Lakewood. Mendel & Company is proud to announce the completion of some of the following projects in 2010. Dr Jeffery Rayl (Happy Canyon Dentistry), Pacific Dental Aurora City Place, Pacific Dental Aurora Village Plaza, 5280 Dental, Dr. Raechel Nelson Dental in Riverton, Utah, and Mile High Primary Care. We were lucky enough to complete over 50 projects in 2010 alone. M&C was proud to participate in the recent CU Dental School Information Night and, as always, participated in the Rocky Mountain Dental Convention with the Metro Denver Dental Society. M&C completed offices in Green Valley Ranch for Dr. Chris Roberts, a pediatric dentist graduating from Ohio State University. He was joined by Dr. Helm and Dr. Whiting in the Green Valley Ranch Medical Office Building. M&C has now completed over half a dozen projects for the nation-wide dental organization, Pacific Dental Services. The Habitat Interfaith Alliance has been paired with their 2011 partner family. As always, Mendel & Company participates in various events and organizations during the year, including the most current Holocaust Awareness Fred Marcus Memorial Lecture held recently at Infinity Park in Glendale with over 500 guests. Late last year, M&C was approached by Rocky Mountain Communities and asked to build a playhouse to be auctioned off to raise money for this worthwhile charity. We happily obliged. Partnering with Rowland + Broughton Architects, we built "Arlo's Mercantile Exchange". Since completing the playhouse in November, this structure has had quite a busy schedule. It was moved from our shop in Englewood to the Chatfield location of the Denver Botanic Gardens where it was on display to thousands of visitors. From there it was disassembled and moved onto Concourse "A" at DIA for several months to the delight of children and families. A couple of weeks ago it was moved again to the downtown Denver Botanic Gardens, where it was viewed for a couple of months. It was supposed to be auctioned on April 16th, but due to some logistical issues, this date was postponed and it was moved again, this time to Stapleton, where it currently resides and will stay, until it is auctioned to the highest bidder and then will take one more trip to the backyard of the lucky winner! In January of 2009 Nathan saw a need in the construction community for a brainstorming/ networking group of construction professionals, so he started CING, the "Construction Industry Networking Group." Teaming with the South Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce, this group meets on the third Tuesday morning of each month at the Chamber for breakfast, networking, speakers, and looking at ways of helping the community. We currently have over 125 members! Last year, CING decided to partner with Homes For Our Troops (HFOT) to give of their time and dollars to help this non-profit.
