in 1997, Mendel and Company Construction, Inc. is quickly growing into one of
Denver’s most trusted and well respected names in commercial tenant finish
and small ground up construction.
Since 1997, Mendel and Company has built dozens of medical and dental offices, from very small, first-time offices for doctors just out of residency, to elaborate, high-end “dream offices” for more experienced doctors. While many of the products and finishes used in these offices vary depending on the specialty of the doctor and the budget to work with, the level of finish and attention to detail does not.
Mendel and Company utilizes the latest technology in our programs, tracking methods, scheduling, and cost containment programs, in order to provide our clients with the most well run projects possible. We have implemented the systems involved to price, coordinate, track, and complete projects in the most effective and efficient ways possible. We take great-care in crafting our schedules, using logic in the methods of construction and using subcontractors who are used to working together, in order to complete each and every project in the least amount of time possible. This allows our clients to quickly open their doors and start earning revenue as soon as possible.

Almost without exception, all of our team members come from a background of larger projects, sometimes even in the $5-25 million range. We have brought the systems and techniques used to complete larger scale projects to bear on smaller projects. We have found that smaller projects require no less attention to detail than their larger counterparts.
In the same vein, our relationships with subcontractors is stronger than most. We have worked with many of our subcontracting partners since the inception of the company, and in many cases, worked with them for years prior with previous companies. We have developed a teamwork approach that has been highly successful, and realize that we are only as strong as our weakest link. There is not a single subcontractor in Denver that we have worked with who would not continue to work with us to this day. We are proud of our subcontractor relationships.
Our most important relationship is with our clients, as we realize that none of the other relationships can take place without our clients. Since 1997 over 90% of our business has come from word-of-mouth referrals and repeat clients. We complete every project with a very high level of finish and attention to every detail. This is the reason for the referral rate we maintain, which is virtually unprecedented in our industry.
Prior to 1997, we built relationships with key personnel. Some of our supervisors have been with the Mendel family for over 25 years. In an industry that is renowned for turnover, we have had virtually none. This is what sets us apart from other construction companies.

The health and safety of our employees and all who work at or visit our jobsites is of utmost importance to us at Mendel & Company. We conduct regular safety audits of all our jobsites to ensure every possible safety precaution is being taken and all workers and employees are following all federal and state safety regulations. We have been certified by the State of Colorado for Premium Cost Containment, which is a stringent program auditing the Company’s safety record and administration.
In the past three years Mendel & Company has had zero lost employee hours due to a job related accident. We are very proud of our accomplishment not only because it meets our goal of zero accidents, but also that it reflects our commitment to providing the safest work environment possible. What this means for our business is we can keep insurance costs down, which translates to lower costs for our clients.
